Football, Democracy & Darwin

Football, Democracy & Darwin explore the myths of our 'Free Market' capitalistic Democracy which purport to take care of all, under the 'Rule of Law' while in fact being words from an older civilization which now scarcely describe the Oligarchy favoring special Interests and wealth.
Democracy, in this illustration, and in truth stands not as a form of government 'by for and of the people' rather a Plutocracy of wealth and power, defined along racial lines and furthering the interests of the citizenry only as happenstance as may benefit the long term interests of the ruling elite.
Football, a national pastime and Soccer, incredibly however display almost all of the essential elements of what we had believed, and do still today, as the tenants of our culture and life, filled with the promise, every Sunday that all can participate, any can win, rules 'of law' apply and the playing field for rich or poor, black or white is level and equal and provides opportunity for any and all who participate.
While both cultures espouse winning, it is clear, since the great recession of 2008, winning in America has been redefined as the 1% and special interests have had to come out of the closet, while Football and Soccer, remain activities embraced by all, as fair as can humanly be and available to any, participant or witness of the original and still formidable tenants of democracy, the rule of law and universal equity.
